MEDIUMSHIP COURSE
The Oracle of Delphi, the Witch of Endor and the woman at the well meeting Jesus, all are examples of mediumship whose stories have survived for thousands of years. Our belief in and fascination with mediumship and the after-life is as prevalent today as it was centuries, even millennia ago.
However, British King (James l (England)/James 6 (Scotland)), based on gossip and rumours, would launch a devastating witch hunt throughout Great Britain, that would eventually spill over into the New World colonies, known as the witch trials at Salem, Massachusetts. The arrests in England resulted in about 600 trials but in Scotland as many as 4,000 to 6,000 people, mostly women, were tried and many were executed, the exact numbers are unknown.
These events stigmatized any expression of mediumship including healing work for decades. The mid-1800’s saw 4 women follow their inner guidance and showed their abilities to the world. Namely the Fox Sisters who brought Spiritualism and mediumship into the forefront in the English-speaking world, Madame Blavatsky (a former Spiritualist) gave us Theosophy and Mary Baker Eddy would found the Christian Science Church and their belief in healing through prayer. These women overcame the social stigma of spiritual abilities.
In some ways, the same stigma is still with us. People are hesitant to admit that they know things about others even before the other person does. Fear has been fostered by religious organizations affiliating mediumship with evil spirits. When we don’t understand something, must we condemn it first??
This course is experiential and will lift the participants up from a place of hiding their abilities to owning and embracing those abilities. Mediumship expressed through healing, clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, psychometry, inspirational speaking, writing and art will all be worked with. Overcoming fears that may be present and moving through any blockages that may be holding your mediumship abilities back.
Instructor: Gord Riddell – is President and Co-Founder of Transformational Arts.Raised in a Spiritualist family and under the mentorship of his Reverend Grandmother, he began working with energies at age 8. He worked lecturing, healing and then giving messages from Spirit in the various Church services. By age 21, his ailing grandmother had him take over running development circles. He has travelled internationally as a lecturer as well as a medium, from Toronto, Montreal to Vancouver, Buffalo to Lilydale, NY , the UK and Spain. He is humourous and astute and can assist you in your spiritual development.
This course is an on-site in person class, held at a private residence, south of Bloor St and off Church St., located in downtown Toronto on the subway system. The address and directions, including free parking, will be sent out upon registration and just before the start date.
