AH-05 Consciousness, Spiritual Awareness; the Higher Self
This course explores the many ways human beings understand consciousness, identity, and spiritual awareness. Participants are introduced to a variety of perspectives on the inner self, including the roles of the ego, subconscious patterns, the observing self, and the concept of a higher or wiser aspect of awareness often referred to as the higher self.
Through guided reflection and experiential practices, students learn techniques for staying grounded in their bodies while exploring inner awareness. Emphasis is placed on developing self- observation, emotional balance, and the ability to remain present while engaging with spiritual concepts and practices.
Participants will examine how different traditions describe the relationship between personal identity, intuition, and a greater sense of connection to life. The course encourages thoughtful exploration and personal interpretation rather than fixed belief systems, allowing each student to develop their own meaningful understanding of spirituality.
Topics and Learning Experiences Include
- Exploring different levels or aspects of consciousness such as ego awareness, observer perspective, shadow aspects, and deeper personal essence.
- Practices for grounding, centering, and maintaining present-time awareness during spiritual exploration.
- Reflecting on spirituality in nature and symbolic traditions associated with crystals and the natural world.
- Introduction to archetypal patterns such as the caregiver, creator, warrior, and wise guide.
- Exploring contemplative practices including prayer, intention, and reflection.
- Examining common spiritual principles such as attraction, intention, surrender, and letting go as tools for personal insight.
Throughout the course, participants are encouraged to approach these topics with curiosity, personal choice, and respectful self-inquiry, developing an understanding of what resonates with their own lived experience.
AH-06 Exploring Subtle Awareness ; Non-Ordinary Experience
This course introduces students to the ways people throughout history have explored experiences that extend beyond ordinary waking awareness. Drawing from contemplative traditions, psychology, and symbolic interpretation, participants learn how altered or expanded states of awareness can arise through meditation, imagination, dreams, and deep reflection.
Rather than encouraging extraordinary experiences for their own sake, the course focuses on developing grounded awareness, discernment, and the ability to remain present while observing inner imagery, intuitive impressions, or symbolic experiences. Students learn practical tools for distinguishing between imagination, emotional responses, and intuitive insight, while maintaining a stable connection to everyday reality.
Through guided exercises and reflective practices, participants explore how inner imagery, dreams, and symbolic perception can support personal insight and self-understanding. Emphasis is placed on integration—bringing meaningful awareness from contemplative experiences into daily life in
ways that support emotional balance and personal growth.
Topics and Learning Experiences Include
- Understanding non-ordinary states of awareness in meditation, dreaming, and reflective practices.
- Developing discernment between imagination, intuition, and emotional activation.
- Exploring symbolic imagery and archetypal themes that may arise in inner experiences.
- Learning grounding and orientation practices to maintain stability during contemplative
exploration. - Reflecting on historical and cross-cultural perspectives on subtle or non-physical awareness.
- Integrating insight from contemplative experiences into everyday life.
Participants are encouraged to approach these practices with curiosity and personal choice, while maintaining emotional safety and grounded awareness.
AH-07 Developing Intuitive Awareness
This module explores intuition as a natural human capacity for insight, pattern recognition, and inner knowing. Participants examine different perspectives on intuitive perception from spiritual traditions, psychology, and personal experience. Through reflective discussion and guided exercises, students learn how intuition can complement rational thinking and emotional awareness.
A key focus of the course is developing discernment—learning to distinguish intuitive impressions from emotional reactions, assumptions, or imagination. Students explore how intuitive awareness may appear in different forms such as sensory impressions, inner imagery, symbolic understanding, or a felt sense of knowing. Emphasis is placed on maintaining grounded awareness and ethical responsibility when interpreting intuitive experiences.
Participants are encouraged to approach intuitive development with curiosity and humility, recognizing that intuition grows through observation, reflection, and self-trust rather than certainty or prediction.
Topics and Learning Experiences Include
- Understanding intuition as a form of inner perception and awareness.
- Exploring different intuitive styles sometimes described as sensing, hearing, seeing, or knowing.
- Developing greater awareness of bodily signals and “gut” responses as sources of information.
- Exercises that explore psychometry traditions, such as sensing impressions associated with personal objects.
- Practicing reflective interpretation of intuitive impressions with attention to personal bias and emotional influence.
- Developing discernment and ethical awareness when sharing intuitive insights with others.
Throughout the course, participants are encouraged to explore their experiences with curiosity, self-awareness, and respect for personal boundaries.
